A detailed guide to using Fortuna for token validation, comparison and risk-aware screening.

Platform Overview

Fortuna helps you assess presale tokens through structured, data-led validation rather than hype or narrative.

The platform combines public token, contract and market-context signals into a readable score and supporting risk labels.

  • Designed for comparison and screening
  • Built around verifiable public data
  • Not financial, legal, or tax advice

Recommended Workflow (Start to Finish)

Use this sequence each time you review a token to keep your process consistent.

  • Search by token name, symbol or contract address.
  • Open the token detail page and check status + Trust Score first.
  • Read Risk Tags to identify the highest-priority concerns.
  • Validate Contract Checks (verification, ownership, mint/admin controls).
  • Review Presale Info (caps, liquidity, timelines, limits).
  • Check Supply & Distribution for concentration and allocation risk.
  • Cross-check social links and activity quality, not just volume.
  • Verify key claims on external official sources before acting.

How to Interpret the Trust Score

The Trust Score is a summary signal. It is useful for ranking and triage, but it is never a guarantee of safety.

Always read score context through the detailed sections and risk tags.

  • Higher score: more positive validation indicators at the time of analysis.
  • Mid score: mixed indicators; review conflicts and dependencies carefully.
  • Lower score: more unresolved or negative indicators requiring caution.
  • Any score can change as contract state, liquidity, ownership or activity changes.

How to Read a Token Detail Page

A token detail page is designed as a structured audit trail for quick but disciplined review.

  • Token Overview: identity, chain context, state and top-level score.
  • Presale Info: cap structure, sale mechanics, schedule and constraints.
  • Contract Checks: technical control points and privilege-related risk.
  • Social Links: official channels and community activity context.
  • Risk Tags: compact summary of key risk factors affecting interpretation.

Practical Due-Diligence Checklist

Before participating in any presale, complete the following checks in your own process.

  • Confirm contract address from official project channels.
  • Verify contract source and ownership/admin state.
  • Check whether mint/blacklist/pause-like controls exist.
  • Assess liquidity lock depth and lock duration where applicable.
  • Review wallet concentration and unlock/vesting risks.
  • Check consistency between whitepaper claims and on-chain setup.
  • Compare social momentum with technical and structural quality.
  • Set your own risk limits before any transaction.

Known Limits of Any Risk Platform

No analytics platform can remove all risk. Fortuna reduces uncertainty but cannot predict future outcomes.

  • Data availability can vary by chain and project maturity.
  • Projects can change behaviour after deployment or after review.
  • Off-chain events and governance decisions can alter risk quickly.
  • You remain responsible for final decisions and independent verification.

Glossary

Key crypto, presale and risk terms used across Fortuna.

Presale

A token sale phase before wider market trading, often with specific participation rules and timelines.

Hard Cap

The maximum amount a sale intends to raise.

Soft Cap

The minimum fundraising target required by the project for intended rollout.

Liquidity Pool (LP)

A pool of paired assets used for decentralised trading and price formation.

Liquidity Lock

A mechanism that restricts LP token movement for a set period to reduce immediate removal risk.

Market Capitalisation

Current token price multiplied by circulating supply.

FDV (Fully Diluted Valuation)

Current token price multiplied by total token supply.

Circulating Supply

Tokens currently available in the market.

Total Supply

Total tokens currently minted minus any burned tokens.

Max Supply

The maximum number of tokens that can ever exist, if defined by the project.

Holder Concentration

How much supply is controlled by top wallets. High concentration can increase volatility and governance risk.

Vesting

A schedule controlling when allocated tokens become transferable or sellable.

TVL (Total Value Locked)

The value of assets locked in a protocol or smart contract ecosystem.

Slippage

The difference between expected and executed trade price, often higher in thin liquidity.

Rug Pull

A malicious or abrupt exit event where project operators extract value and leave participants exposed.

Renounced Ownership

A contract state where direct owner privileges are relinquished, depending on contract design.

Contract Verification

Publication of readable source code matching deployed bytecode for transparency checks.

Mint Function

A contract capability to create additional tokens. Needs context on permissions and limits.

Blacklist / Restriction Functions

Controls that can block transfers or addresses. Legitimate in some cases, high risk in others.

Risk Tags

Specific warning labels surfaced by validation checks to highlight issues requiring attention.
